Japan Protests S Korean Military Drills Around Disputed Islands

(Al Jazeera, By Staff Writer) South Korea has begun military drills near the Takeshima/Dokdo islands, a set of islets claimed by both South Korea and Japan. The military drills, which are a part of annual exercises according to South Korea, have drawn protest from the Japanese government. The exercises come only days after South Korea announced its intention to end its intelligence sharing pact with Japan. <Accessed 2019-08-25>
