Lee Ching-yu, wife of Taiwanese democracy advocate Lee Ming-che, who has been imprisoned in China’s Hunan province since 2017, is currently visiting the United States to raise awareness to her husband’s situation. She intends to make appeals to the U.S. Congress and the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, following controversy regarding China’s decision to bar her from visiting Lee Ming-che for three months.
